At Konvity ("we", "our", or "us"), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you visit konvity.com (the "Site").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

We only collect personal information you voluntarily provide, such as when you:

  • Contact us via our contact form (name, email address, message)

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you visit the Site, we may automatically collect:

  • Log Data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of visit, referring URL, typically collected automatically by our hosting provider.
  • Local Storage: A small entry saved in your browser (not a traditional cookie) to remember that you've seen our cookie notice.

1.3 File Data

We do not collect, upload, or store any files you process with our tools. All file conversion operations are performed entirely within your browser using client-side JavaScript APIs (Web Audio API, Canvas API, PDF.js, etc.). Your files never leave your device.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and support requests
  • Improve and maintain the Site and our tools
  • Analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires us to identify the legal basis on which we process your personal data:

  • Contact form submissions — processed with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time by contacting us.
  • Log data collected by our hosting provider — processed under our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in keeping the Site secure and operating correctly.
  • Essential local storage (remembering that you've seen our cookie notice) — strictly necessary to provide that functionality, and exempt from consent requirements under EU ePrivacy rules.
  • Google Analytics — processed under our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in understanding how the Site is used so we can maintain and improve it.

We do not use your personal data for any automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Providing your name, email, and message through the contact form is voluntary. It is not a statutory or contractual requirement, but if you do not provide it, we will not be able to respond to your inquiry.

4. Advertising

The Site does not currently display third-party advertisements. This section describes how advertising would work if we enable it (for example, through Google AdSense), so this Policy is ready in advance and stays accurate the moment that changes.

Google, as a third-party vendor, would use cookies (such as the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads on the Site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info (United States) or www.youronlinechoices.eu (Europe).

EU/UK/Swiss users: if we introduce advertising, we will comply with Google's EU User Consent Policy and applicable consent requirements for users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland at that time.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the Site, so we can improve it. Google Analytics collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location (derived from a truncated, anonymized IP address), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the Site. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

Google Analytics runs for visitors to the Site. You can opt out at any time — see below — and browser settings that block cookies or tracking scripts will also prevent it from running.

Data collected is retained according to our Google Analytics account settings (14 months) and is processed by Google in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Cookies

We use essential local storage to remember that you've seen our cookie notice, and Google Analytics cookies to understand Site usage. We do not set advertising cookies today. Please see our Cookie Policy for details.

7. Third-Party Services

The Site currently uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Analytics – Usage analytics
  • Google Fonts – Typography

The PDF to Text tool's processing engine is served directly from our own domain rather than a third-party CDN, so no external service is involved in that tool's operation.

These services have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices. They may be based outside your country (including the United States); where that involves a transfer of personal data out of the EEA or UK, we rely on the safeguards those providers make available (such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses).

8. Data Retention

We retain contact form submissions for up to 12 months to enable follow-up. No file data is ever retained. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months per our Google Analytics account settings, after which it is automatically deleted.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to (and, if you are in the EEA or UK, these correspond to your rights under GDPR Articles 15–22):

  • Access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15)
  • Request correction of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
  • Request erasure of your data (Art. 17)
  • Restrict how we process your data (Art. 18)
  • Receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20)
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21)
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing (Art. 7(3))

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@konvity.com. We will respond within one month, as required by GDPR. If you are in the EEA or UK and are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

10. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
