About St. Helens

St. Helens is a metropolitan borough in Merseyside, historically rooted in the Industrial Revolution as a centre for coal mining, glassmaking (particularly Pilkington's), and copper smelting. The town of St Helens is the administrative centre. The borough also includes Newton-le-Willows, Earlestown, and Haydock. It has a population of approximately 180,000. Notable landmarks include the World of Glass museum, the North West Museum of Road Transport, the historic Sankey Canal, and the rugby league stadium (home to St Helens R.F.C.). The Dream, a towering public art sculpture, sits on the former Sutton Manor colliery site. You can download the administrative boundary for St. Helens in GeoJSON and KML formats for further use.
